Buffalo Bills Look to Rebound
By Pat Freeman, The Mighty O’Ba
The Buffalo Bills face the second of three straight road games against a tough Houston Texan team down in the Lone Star State. Houston has had some concerns on the defensive side of the ball in which the hometown team will look to exploit this week.
The Bills look to reverse their awful play from Baltimore in which they were absolutely embarrassed on both sides of the ball. The good thing is that team feels they can correct the issues from that game and get back on the winning track.
One problem that I saw on the defensive side of the ball was the bad angles of pursuit by our linebackers and defensive backs. When you go up against a running back like Derrick Henry, you cannot afford to take bad angles on him because he was gone and there was no recovery from there.
This also must include the poor play of our defensive front throughout this contest that saw the Bills lose badly which has been a rare occasion under the tenure of Sean McDermott. The one thing you know for sure is that Houston is going to try the same strategy that worked for the Ravens until the Bills prove they can stop it.
On the offensive side of the ball our offensive line was bombarded with fronts that they did not have enough people to block, and offensive coordinator Joe Brady failed to put this offense in a successful position for the first time this season.
When this franchise needed an answer under Sean McDermott in most cases, they have delivered, but I think they do have a problem with undersize linebackers and mediocrity at the defensive back position.
One thing I cannot figure out is why the Bills selected Kair Elam if he is not a fit for your defense? The other issue is having a duel tight end threat that only accounts for a small part of your offense makes no sense to me at all.
But let us look for an impressive bounce back game from Houston before traveling to take on the Jets, Jets, Jets, Jets.
