Bills Are Trying to Get Back On Track
By Pat Freeman, The Mighty O’Ba
The Buffalo Bills are trying to get back on track after losing their second game in a row in Houston, Texas. The hometown team has struggled the past two weeks on both sides of the ball, but particularly on the offensive side. The last two games have seen Josh Allen under a lot of duress.
The Bills started the season by winning three games in a row but kept their franchise quarterback upright for the most part. The Texans and Ravens have put extreme pressure on Josh Allen by not allowing him to hit open receivers. The good thing that I have noticed on the offensive side of the ball is that they have been able to come back after making proper adjustments.
The defense did the same during the game, allowing big plays and long runs mainly because of the lack of experience playing the safety position. Cole Bishop is no doubt going to be a good NFL player, but right now is learning on the job and that can cost you big plays.
The other area that I asked Defensive Coordinator Bobby Babich about was in reference to the angles of the backs in defenders against the run. The last two weeks have been terrible. Allowing the running game to have big plays because of bad technique at this level is a recipe for disaster.
The Bills take on the New York Jets in the Meadowlands on Monday after they fired their head coach, Robert Saleh, and had him escorted out of the building by security. The Jets are an organization once again heading in the wrong direction because of management and not the head coach.
The hometown team should bounce back this week against another AFC east inferior opponent.
