The Buffalo Bills defeated the New York Giants 14-9 this past Sunday Night in Orchard Park, NY. In a football game that felt more like a chess match, Bills head coach Sean McDermott was able to triumph over his protégé Brian Daboll. Daboll threw the kitchen sink at the Buffalo Bills showing his familiarity with the team and with quarterback Josh Allen. For most of the game, Daboll was able to neutralize Allen and even shut the Bills offense out in the first half.
A lot of credit for that dominate half also goes to Tyrod Taylor, the former pro bowl quarterback for the Buffalo Bills who also had his own level of familiarity. Taylor was there for McDermott’s first year in Buffalo as the head coach. Taylor mentioned how he was able to lean on that year to prepare for the big game Sunday Night. It wasn’t all good for Taylor however. At the end of the first half Taylor admitted to changing the play which cost the Giants points and extend their lead to a 2 possession game.
Although it was a tough loss, Tyrod was still holding his head up after the game. When asked what role his faith plays in big games like Sunday Night’s loss, he responded “It means everything, I’m a believer and I believe in Gods timing. And I believe that when it comes to faith holding firm to it and standing on things you believe gives you chance to be able to be calm in these types of situations.”
With Daniel Jones health still in question and the stout play the Giants played with the last game, Taylor has a chance to provide the Giants with a spark that could change their season.
