The deadline to apply is May 1, 2024. All applications must be sent by midnight on this date. The date of the award presentation will be announced later. Many area students have received this award in the past and they are doing well in their college careers. I have received thank you notes from past recipients stating that they appreciated the award. One student even sent me a copy of his report card to let me know that he was doing well in college. I would like to encourage all scholarship award recipients to send me a letter or card letting me know how they are doing in college. It is important to start early to complete the application and submit your letters of reference.

The Romeo Doyle Muhammad Scholarship is named in honor of my Late husband “Brother Romeo.” He made his transition on March 20, 2009. He was a great advocate of education and he always encouraged young people to stay in school and to do the right thing. He loved math. He was known for his expertise in the analysis and evaluation of numbers from a historical perspective. He was also known for helping others in need. Romeo Doyle Muhammad was a Combat Veteran of the Korean War. He served our country with honor and distinction. The scholarship is presented during his birth month in July. The date, time, and place will be announced later.
