……..This Columnist would like to thank Central District Board of Education member Dr./Rev. Paulette Woods for her generous donation to the Romeo Doyle Muhammad Scholarship. I really appreciate her support very much. She stopped by my house recently and gave me a check.

The 15th Annual Romeo Doyle Muhammad Scholarship will be presented to students of color who will graduate from high school this June and attend college in the fall.

I would also like to thank Deacon Judson Price from First Shiloh Baptist Church for his donation to the scholarship. Pastor Dwayne Jones of the Mt. Aaron Baptist has also supported the scholarship with donations over the past two years. These donations will help me to give more students scholarship money.

The Romeo Doyle Muhammad Scholarship is always presented in July, which is the birth month of my late husband. Romeo Doyle Muhammad was a Veteran of the Korean War, who served our country with dignity and respect. He always encouraged young people to stay in school and work hard to get a good education.

Dozens of students have received help with their expenses in college from this scholarship. You can donate to the scholarship and get an application by contacting me at ewriter52@roadrunner. com or you can call me at (716) 847-6010. You can also visit my website at www.evamdoyle.com for further information about my work. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2024.
