James Cook Emerges as the #1 Offensive Weapon

The one player that I believe has the most upside in becoming the center piece of the 2024-2025 offensive attack of the Buffalo Bills is running back James Cook. This young man has the most upside usage potential coming back.

I believe the coaching brain trust plans to use him like how the Bills of the ninety’s used the great Thurman Thomas. The coaching staff of the Bills have barely tapped into the potential of James Cook, and he had a surprisingly good year last year. Now that the Bills have eliminated some of the veteran distractions in the locker room, they go back to winning a championship with players who understand that is the mission – not your own personal agenda.

Do not get me wrong, it is one of the hardest balancing acts in the NFL when you have a team that has developed some notable talent. Each franchise has a cycle of success with each core group of players outside of your franchise quarterback who has a lot longer cycle.

The Bills had run their course with some of their players, and those players have now been given the opportunity to continue their careers at other destinations. James Cook is at the point of having an outstanding season coming up, which also means the franchise will have to make a choice on awarding him a high price extension, especially at a position that has not held its value. If he has the season, I believe he will force a tough decision for the team who I believe will reward based on this year’s upcoming production.
