NFL Owners Once Again Send the Message of Who is Boss

The storyline of the 2025 draft was sent loud and clear that the 32 white men in the room are still the boss. I had been waiting for this day to come again because there was no conclusion to the fact that Colin Kaepernick, Eric Reid and others that peacefully demonstrated the national anthem a few years ago were barred from ever playing in the league again.

The owners were never forced to testify under oath that they colluded to forbid any team from signing these players. They also came to a settlement in the former NFL network journalist lawsuit filed by Jim Trotter who also came to a settlement without testimony being heard on the indiscretions of these owners who continue to receive tax subsidies to operate as a 501 C6 still in 2025.

Many of you applauded the settlement of Jim Trotter because it established a scholarship for journalism at HBCUs. Well, I was not one of them because once again this group of NFL owners evade testifying under oath about their many indiscretions that continue today. I believe it’s past time that the NFL be investigated and their private meetings be exposed because it is beyond obvious that they agreed to block Shadeur Sanders from being drafted in the first round. Believe me owners are very worried that President Donald Trump even weighed in on this latest league indiscretion because he has a reputation of going after his enemies and still blames this group of owners from preventing him from purchasing the Buffalo Bills in 2014. The media that has chimed in on this issue have once again failed to give a deeper analysis of the how NFL owners have continued to manipulate the landscape of sports top to bottom with very few people questioning many of their actions including their lack of support for Black media outlets that helped to build this league into the number#1 sport in America.
