Buffalo Bills Update

Pat Freeman, The Mighty O’Ba

The latest look, Buffalo Bills have started off the 2024-2025 season by starting 2-0 including a victory over AFC East division rival Miami last week by a score of 31-10. This week the hometown team returns home against a desperate Jacksonville Jaguars team that has started 0-2 and are looking for a win against the Bills.

The Jaguars have had some recent success vs. the Bills, but this is a much different team. This team, I believe can attack you differently each week with a variety of weapons which includes two top tier tight ends and the current AFC offensive player of the week, James Cook. The one area that has been impressive the last couple of weeks has been the in-game adjustments by both sides of the ball.

Offensively, the line of the Bills has been dominant, especially the play of pro bowler Dion Dawkins, and Conor McGovern has fit in well at the center position.

The defense of the Bills has become very opportunistic forcing three turnovers vs. Dolphins led by former UB Defensive back Jamarcus Ingram and Christian Benford. It has been a very entertaining two weeks, but the most impressive aspect of these two victories has been the in-game adjustments by new defensive coordinator Bobby Babich, who has done an outstanding job of adjusting his game plan to what the opponents were trying to accomplish.

Each week presents a different test, and the Jaguars do not want to start this season 0-3, so they will be playing this game at a very desperate level. Even with that challenge, I do not believe they will be successful against the Bills in a nationally televised game on Monday night.
