Buffalo Bills Training Camp Update

The Buffalo Bills had their first day in the Pads on Monday, July 29th, and let me tell you – it was filled with high energy. In keeping with that spirit, we witnessed the first fights of the summer as the competition level naturally rose to another level.

In reading the national media that continues to list Sean McDermott as being on the hot seat, I have determined to be truly unaware that McDermott oversees the entire Buffalo Bills football operation. He is now going into his eighth year as coach of our favorite Western New York pastime, and has made the playoffs six out of seven years. He took over an operation that had not made the postseason in 17 years.

Economically, the franchise was making money, but was not getting national exposure because of the mediocre play and the lack of name recognition amongst their star players. Well, that has changed significantly. The Buffalo Bills have a franchise quarterback with multiple players who are ranked highly at their position.

The organization is also about to have a brand-new stadium in Orchard Park scheduled to open in 2026. Though the location is a mistake, all of this, I believe, can be attributed to the success put forth by Sean McDermott. Before his arrival, this franchise was mentioned as a relocation team to a larger market because of the current economic challenges facing this area. This talk has mostly died down, credit the architect of this franchise to McDermott. Since the great teams of the 1990’s, his tenure has given the faithful their best chance at getting back to the big dance and winning that elusive championship.
