The Buffalo Urban League Presents the 2023 Annual Gala: "Going Further Together"

This year's gala theme, "Going Further Together," marks a momentous milestone in the organization's journey. It signifies the beginning of a new era characterized by growth, innovation, and a commitment to becoming a beacon of hope for the communities the organization empowers and the lives it transforms.

The 2023 Annual Gala will recognize outstanding individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the community. The honorees for this year's event include:
Rashida Dowell, who will receive the Emerging Leader Award in recognition of her exemplary leadership and dedication.
The Community Service Award will be presented jointly to American Legion's Bennett Wells Post 1780 and Jesse Clipper Post 430. Additionally, Amvets Post 24's Johnetta R. Cole will be acknowledged forher exceptional service.
The prestigious William L. Evans & Whitney M. Young, Jr. Humanitarian Award will be presented to Mayor Byron W. Brown in acknowledgment of his remarkable contributions to the Buffalo-Niagara community.
The gala promises to be a memorable evening, featuring special musical guest DJ Jazzy Jeff, celebrating 50 years of Hip Hop, and live music by Buffalo’s very own Unity Band. Attendees can expect a night filled with entertainment and inspiration as they join in celebrating the achievements of these remarkable individuals and organizations.
