Unapologetic Coffee, located on the corner of Utica and Main Street in Buffalo, is a vibrant and community focused, black owned coffee shop that has quickly become a beloved gathering place. The brainchild of twin sisters Alicia Officer (CEO) and Alisa Officer (COO), Unapologetic Coffee offers a unique and inviting atmosphere that is both soothing and energizing. With unique names like "I said what I said", "Flow" and "Hey Dog.” The sisters' love for coffee was instilled in them from a young age by their grandmother, Tayta. Inspired by her influence, Alicia and Alisa decided to turn their passion for coffee into a business venture. In 2021, amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, they took the bold step of roasting their own coffee beans.

What sets Unapologetic Coffee apart, is not just their commitment to serving high quality coffee, but their dedication to supporting black owned coffee farmers around the world. Through a process called "Direct Trade," the sisters source their coffee directly from black owned farms in countries like Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Brazil. This approach empowers the farmers to have control over the pricing of their products and sets new standards in the coffee industry. By supporting these farmers, Unapologetic Coffee contributes to economic development and creates a sustainable supply chain.

In addition to their business endeavors, Alicia and Alisa are passionate about addressing the barriers that black women face in corporate America.
