Lace Up Your Skates! Winter Recess Returns to Buffalo RiverWorks Sponsored By Independent Health

Buffalo RiverWorks and Independent Health have again teamed up to offer Western New Yorkers fun and free activities during the region’s winter break from Feb. 19-22. The entire community can enjoy free ice skating and indoor roller skating along with discounts on skate rentals and the RiverWorks ropes course.

In addition, Independent Health RedShirtsSM will be present from noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21 with giveaways and kid-friendly activities. Community partner GOBike will also be on site, providing a great way for families and students of all ages to stay active and have fun during the winter break.

The full list of activities at RiverWorks during the Winter Recess event include:

  • FREE roller skating, courtesy of Independent Health, on Feb. 19-22 from noon to 5 p.m., with extended hours on Wednesday, Feb. 21 from noon to 9 p.m.

  • FREE ice skating, courtesy of Independent Health, on Feb. 20-22 from noon to 5 p.m., with extended hours on Wednesday, Feb. 21 from noon to 9 p.m.

  • Skate rentals will be $4 each – giving everyone the Independent Health member discount.

  • Guests can climb their way through both levels of the ropes course for only $20 (a $10 savings).

  • Free hot chocolate in the pro shop.

  • Independent Health will be present from noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21 with:

  • FREE giveaways while supplies last – this will include mini thermal lunch totes, kids gloves and pencils

  • Kid-friendly obstacle course

  • Coloring station for kids

  • Photo opportunities with Billy Buffalo, Buster Bison, and more!

As the official health and wellness partner of Buffalo RiverWorks, Independent Health members also save on a variety of activities year-rountd.
