The Buffalo Urban League is pleased to announce the appointment of Darnell J. Haywood Jr. as the President of the Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals. The Young Professionals (YP) group serves as a dynamic community within the Urban League, catering to members aged 21 to 40.

Thomas Beauford, President & CEO of the Buffalo Urban League, expressed enthusiasm about Darnell's new role, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Darnell Haywood Jr. as the leader of the Young Professionals of the Buffalo Urban League. Darnell's dedication and advocacy for the Buffalo Urban League's Mission have been exemplary, and we look forward to witnessing the Young Professionals thrive under his guidance.”

Darnell will also become a Buffalo Urban League’s Board of Directors member, further cementing his commitment and influence within the organization. Darnell currently holds the position of Regional Community Responsibility Officer at BankOnBuffalo, a division of CNB Bank. In his capacity, Darnell oversees client relationships, compliance and regulations, employee development, and community engagement. He plays a pivotal role in leading BankOnBuffalo and CNB Bank's Community Engagement, CRA, and Financial Wellness initiatives, with a specific focus on community organizations impacting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Darnell brings valuable credentials to his new role, holding an Associate Degree in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Marketing.
