NYSDOT Served Injunction

The New York State Department Of Transportation [NYSDOT] was served with an Injunction to halt all work on the Kensington Expressway regarding the construction of the Toxic Tunnel on Humboldt Parkway, until the Judge hears the case in County Court, Thursday, October 25th at 2 PM.

There will also be a Support Rally in front of Old County Hall, 92 Franklin St. at 1 PM on that date, before the case is heard! Please Support the community as we fight to get back what Bidwell Parkway or Chapin Parkway never lost; and that is a beautiful tree lined Parkway of real trees, and not those puny trees that will have to grow sideways in only 3 ft of soil.

The residents of Chapin, Bidwell or Lincoln Parkway in the city of Buffalo never had their trees destroyed and an ugly Expressway put in the middle of a thriving, middle-class neighborhood. Only the residents of a slowly integrated Eastside neighborhood were displaced and had their investment in the city’s real estate market totally devalued.

Not only that, but the city leaders took no consideration of how the pollutants from cars and trucks emission into the air surrounding their homes would affect the families who lived and died, some of them died too soon, from breathing all of the toxins.
