Buffalo Sewer Launches Interactive Queen City Clean Waters Initiative Website
Site provides local stakeholders and residents opportunity to provide comments on projects across the city;interactive map provides real time updates
The Buffalo Sewer Authority (Buffalo Sewer) has launched an interactive website for the Queen City Clean Waters Initiative to engage local stakeholders and communities for project input and participation in the $1 billion effort to improve local waterways by mitigating combined sewer overflows.
City of Buffalo residents and stakeholders can access the website at http://buffaloqccw.org/. The website features initiative details, project updates, frequently asked questions (FAQs), a comment/question section, and a program timeline.
The website also includes an interactive platform where users can access the Queen City Clean Waters Initiative survey, designed to gather feedback on initiative communication and information sharing. Users can also communicate directly with Buffalo Sewer through the website’s comment platform to ask questions or provide input and ideas.
An interactive project map allows users to view project locations, timelines, and details. Community members can provide comments on projects impacting their neighborhoods, ensuring that their voices are heard and prioritized in these community improvement efforts.
“An integral component of this initiative is engagement and interaction with the local community; we especially need to hear from those neighborhoods most affected by combined sewer overflows and the burying of waterways,” said Rosaleen Nogle, PE, BCEE, BC WRE, Principal Sanitary Engineer, Buffalo Sewer. “Buffalo Sewer encourages residents to participate in our engagement process to enhance our role in protecting public health and the environment.”
