Buffalo PAL in Partnership With Bills Defensemen Shaq Lawson Hosts Holiday Party and Toy Drive

The Police Athletic League of Buffalo (Buffalo PAL) hosted a holiday celebration and toy drive on Tuesday, December 12th, at Deco Lounge inside the ACB Building in Downtown Buffalo. The event was open to the public and engaged Buffalo PAL supporters who wished to donate toys or gift cards to the organization, benefiting families throughout the Buffalo community. In addition, guests also mingled with Buffalo PAL’s holiday celebration host, Buffalo Bills Defenseman Shaq Lawson.

“The Police Athletic League of Buffalo was excited to host this year’s holiday celebration and toy drive at Deco Lounge”, said Nekia Kemp, executive director for Buffalo PAL. “This event is an amazing opportunity to engage parents, supporters, and community members unfamiliar with the work Buffalo PAL does in this area. With more than 16,000 area youth impacted through sports, educational, and enrichment programming, we look forward to collecting plenty of toys for distribution and building new relationships that can help us reach even more youth in Buffalo and surrounding communities. I want to thank Buffalo PAL Board Chair Mayor Byron W. Brown and the Buffalo Police Department for their continued support as we continue this important work.”

With the growing number of millennial and Generation Z parents, The Police Athletic League of Buffalo hopes to engage the newest generation of supporters as they prepare to enter the new year. With help from Shaq Lawson, who actively participates in community initiatives throughout Western NY, the organization hopes to build impactful relationships that can benefit more youth in Buffalo and surrounding communities.

“We are excited to celebrate the season of giving with our partners, donors, and community supporters”, said Lindsey L. Taylor, director of development at Buffalo PAL. “This celebration created memories for all who attended and helped build new relationships within the community. In addition, it helped ensure Buffalo PAL youth have a wonderful holiday.”

The Police Athletic League of Buffalo encouraged attendees to bring a new unwrapped toy or gift card to the holiday celebration and toy drive. The organization will distribute the gifts to youth enrolled in their programs at a separate holiday celebration.
