Black History Tours
The tours were held on Saturdays during the month of February. The tours feature a journey that took you to the Buffalo Niagara area of important landmarks, and various cultural organizations. During these tours, there is storytelling by some of Buffalo’s notable storytellers. The tour was established to help increase the efforts of education of our local Black History. Some of the stops were the Black Achievers Museum, the Frank Merriweather Library, the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center, and the Buffalo & Erie County Library.
The Calvary Baptist Church Bus was used for the tours. Everyone who registered for the tours enjoyed themselves. The information given during these tours was greatly appreciated. The community is looking forward to next year. Thank you to all that was involved in this insightful event. The tours were open to the public. A special thank you Pastor Corey Gibson, and to the bus driver Sister Wanda Parker of the Calvary Baptist Church for safely taking us on the tours.
