Ring in 2025 at the 37th Annual City of Buffalo New Year’s Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks Celebration at Roosevelt Plaza in downtown Buffalo. This beloved tradition, presented by M&T Bank, will take place on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, from 10:00 p.m. to midnight, featuring live music and a spectacular fireworks display at the historic Electric Tower.
Sponsored by Mayor Christopher P. Scanlon, the City of Buffalo, Buffalo Place, and the Police Athletic League of Buffalo, the event promises a festive night for all.
“Planning is well underway, and we look forward to sharing more details soon,” said Mayor Scanlon. “For now, we encourage everyone to mark their calendars and bring friends and family to downtown Buffalo to celebrate New Year’s Eve and ring in 2025 together.”
The festivities kick off at 10:00 p.m. at Roosevelt Plaza, located just outside Iskalo Development’s Electric Tower. Hosting the event will be DJ Jickster of 97 Rock, leading an evening filled with live music, the ceremonial “Dropping of the NYE Ball,” and a dazzling fireworks display.
This year’s live music lineup includes the talented Saxophonist Will Holton and Buffalo’s own The Strictly Hip. Known for their masterful recreation of The Tragically Hip’s music, The Strictly Hip regularly perform to sold-out venues across North America.
The New Year’s Eve Ball Drop also serves a greater purpose. Thanks to the generosity of donors, it raises crucial funds for the Police Athletic League of Buffalo, which supports free programs for the city’s youth.
This year’s sponsors include: M&T Bank. City of Buffalo, Police Athletic League of Buffalo, Iskalo Development Corp., AAA’s Safety Foundation, Carmina Wood Design, Douglas Development, Frey Electric National Fuel, National Grid, 2025 Buffalo Auto Show, DiDonato Associates, Uniland Development, Roswell Park Cancer Institute 97 Rock, WKBW-TV.
More details about the Buffalo Ball Drop and Fireworks Celebration will be shared during a press event on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the lobby of the Electric Tower, located at 535 Washington Street at Roosevelt Plaza.
Additionally, the official testing of the NYE Ball Drop is scheduled for Monday, December 30, 2024, at noon in Roosevelt Plaza.
