P.E.A.C.E., Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is announcing its upcoming conference, The Cost of Gun Violence, where they invite you to join them in addressing the impact of death by gun violence on our communities.
According to P.E.A.C.E., Inc., death by gun violence is a critical public health issue. Out of every ten deaths, six are suicides by guns. Every day, 68 deaths occur by firearm. In one year alone, 49,000 deaths caused by firearms took place in the U.S.
As part of their ongoing commitment to supporting the affected communities, P.E.A.C.E., Inc. is hosting a two-day conference to bring together professionals, researchers, practitioners, community agencies, healthcare and justice personnel, students, victims, survivors, and advocates to address the far-reaching impact of gun violence collectively.
The organization aims to explore evidence-based solutions, deepen the understanding of those affected, and discuss the latest research on healthcare effects at the individual and community levels.
The conference will include Keynote Speaker Dr. James Lukan, Trauma, Burn & Vascular Surgeon; speakers from The Rockefeller Institute, and experts in the field of gun violence.
In addition, they will host several workshops to inform and find solutions that community members can implement in their fields and daily lives.
