‘Facing History: The Revisit’ With Emmett Till Family Members Presented by the CHCB, Inc.

The Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc. Resiliency Center will present “Facing History: The Re visit” with family members of Emmett Till on Saturday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The presentation will be held at Buffalo State University Campbell Student Union, 1300 Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo, NY.

Presenters include members of Emmett Till’s family, Amberly Carter and Magnolia Carter, along with Marcus D. Watson, PhD, associate professor of Africana Studies at Buffalo State University. They will share their personal experi ences and insights, fol lowed by a Q&A session. The event will focus on the enduring impact of Emmett Till’s tragic lynching in 1955– a pivotal moment in the Civil Rights Movement and its relevance to today’s ongoing fight against hate and white supremacy.

Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of these crucial issues and explore pathways toward healing and racial justice.

This free event is open to the public. Educators, school administrators, counselors, parents, historians, civil rights advocates, health care staff, elected officials, clergy, and students are encouraged to attend.
