HOME Secures Grant to Enhance Community Engagement and Address Housing Challenges

Housing Opportunities Made Equal (HOME), the inclusive fair housing organization in Western New York serving renters and property owners alike, was recently awarded a $2,350 grant from Lake Shore Savings Bank.

The grant will allow HOME to develop and launch a targeted mailing campaign to survey community members, gathering valuable insights into their needs and the most pressing challenges they face in housing. As a result, HOME will be able to better understand their concerns and preferences, ensuring that the organization’s services align with the community’s expectations.

Additionally, HOME will provide community members with detailed information about the services that they offer, aiming to raise awareness and to ensure that community members know how they can benefit from HOME’s support.

Housing Opportunities Made Equal, Inc. is a civil rights organization with a mission to promote the value of diversity and ensure all people an equal opportunity to live in housing and communities of their choice. Through the education, advocacy, and enforcement of fair housing laws, HOME seeks to ensure that everyone can: have their voices heard on their housing issues; defend and safeguard their rights; and have their concerns genuinely considered when decisions are being made about their lives and housing.
