Byron Brown

Mayor Byron W. Brown and the City of Buffalo continue to celebrate Black Business Month this August, recognizing the important contributions of Black-owned businesses to the community’s economic and cultural growth. On his weekly Sunday radio show on WUFO 1080 AM, Mayor Brown highlighted The Exchange at Beverly Gray, the premier Entrepreneur Service Organization specifically serving the underrepresented entrepreneurial community in Buffalo. Located in East Buffalo, the organization was established by Mayor Brown and with partnership from the University at Buffalo. It’s the first Incubator and Coworking Space in WNY specifically serving Black, Indigenous, and people of color. and underrepresented entrepreneurs and business owners. Throughout the remainder of the month, the City’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, in partnership with The Exchange at Beverly Gray, is hosting a series of events and initiatives aimed at supporting and promoting Black entrepreneurs.

Mayor Brown said, “Black-owned businesses are vital to our city’s economic success—employing workers, generating new dollars in economic activity, and providing innovative, high-quality goods and services to our residents. This Black Business Month, I am pleased to once again join The Exchange at Beverly Gray in celebrating and uplifting the Black-owned businesses that make our community much stronger. That said, I still want to remind everyone that the best way to celebrate Black Business Month is to visit our community’s black-owned businesses all year long.”
