Buffalo Urban League Continues Partnership with AT&T to Bridge the Digital Divide

For the second time this year, the Buffalo Urban League is excited to announce the continuation of its partnership with AT&T to address the digital divide in our community. We are proud to expand our efforts by providing laptops to organizations that champion entrepreneurship and offer community support in the arts and creativity for youth.

As part of this initiative, a press event will be held on Friday, August 23rd from 1 pm – 2pm at Enterprise Charter School, located at 275 Oak St. Buffalo, NY 14203. During the event, representatives from the Buffalo Urban League and AT&T will join community leaders to distribute laptops to the selected organizations.

"We are thrilled to partner with AT&T once again to empower our community with access to technology," said Thomas Beauford Jr, President & CEO of the Buffalo Urban League. "In today's digital age, access to technology is essential for success. By providing laptops to these organizations, we are helping to bridge the digital divide and ensure that all members of our community have the tools they need to thrive."

The laptops will be distributed directly to the leadership of the selected organizations, who will then distribute them to the entrepreneurs and families they serve. This approach ensures that the technology reaches those who need it most and will have the greatest impact as we continue to close the technological gap in our community.

"AT&T is proud to collaborate with organizations like Buffalo Urban League and all those working with us today to help close the digital equity gap. Many students and small business owners in Buffalo lack the devices needed for digital learning and business management,” said Kevin Hanna, Director External Affairs, AT&T New York. “Access to connectivity is vital in helping to bridge the digital divide and we are glad we can provide these resources to those that need them most.”

We invite members of the media, community leaders, and stakeholders to join us on August 23rd as we continue our ongoing efforts to create a more equitable, inclusive and sustainable Buffalo.
