A Conservative Plan for the Future of America We Can’t Ignore

By Norman Franklin

We are living in a time defined by the uncertainness’s of what is truth, of what is real or what is AI generated, and of what can be substantiated and what is hype.

There is a 900-page document that proposes the restructure of America’s democratic governance. It has been scantly publicized, but now is surfacing on the horizon of our turbulent political waters. Project 2025 is the name of the emerging storm. It poses a tsunami effect.

This controversial, disruptive, and despotic document is the brainchild of the Heritage Foundation. It proposes sweeping changes to the structure and operation of our government.

The Heritage Foundation is a think tank that presents itself as visionary for America’s future. It is a research and education institution. Their mission is to build and promote conservative public policies, promote free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, and traditional values. Sound American values it would seem. It’s all relative. As they say, “the devil is in the details.” Its an agenda of regression and dystopian vision. Many former Trump administration officials are in leadership and policy making positions of the conservative organization. John McEntee, fmr director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office, is senior advisor for Project 2025.

Media Matters, a progressive research and information center, reported that the campaign and the team behind Project 2025 plan to integrate some of the work of the project this summer.

Trump and Marco “Little Marco” Rubio, the presumptive VP candidate, have both slammed the Project as “ridiculous and abysmal.” Mr. Trump renounced any connection with Project 2025. “I know nothing about Project 2025. I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of the things they’re saying,” he posted on his Truth Social Platform.

Former Trump White House personnel are hands on in crafting project policies.

The Project proposes sweeping changes that roll back decades of civil rights, environmental protections, and social welfare programs. The policies promoted benefit the wealthy and those in positions of power. They promise economic growth through deregulation and tax cuts. It reduces funding for Medicaid, food program assistance, and affordable housing. Millions of the most in need will lack essential support; hunger and homelessness will increase. This inhumane, economically short-sighted approach undermines the health and productivity of the workforce, social welfare sources assert.

“It is more than an idea, it’s a dystopian plot already in motion to dismantle democracy,” says Jared Huffman, D. Calif. Huffman is a member of The Stop Project 2025 Task Force. The task force will serve as a central hub for prodemocracy members of Congress.

Gene Hamilton, former Trump administration official, appeared before the House Judiciary Weaponization Subcommittee hearing on May 15, 2024, to answer questions about the Project 2025 document. Hamilton is Legal VP of America First. He crafted much of the document’s language.

Jasmine Crockett, D. TX, questioned the unapologetic Hamilton who sat with his arms crossed, stoic faced, and responded with short concise answers.

Project 2025 is not media hype. It is not the idle musings of a conservative think tank. The Democratic Congress is taking it seriously, perhaps, just perhaps America should take notice of what is set in motion.
