…...The deadline for my essay contest is now November 2, 2023 by midnight on this date. This essay contest is open to students in grades 9 – 12. Students must write a two page typed essay and address the following question: What are the reasons for student fighting?

In recent months there has been fighting among many students in a variety of public places such as the library, mall, schools, and places where our young people meet. The questions are: What are some of the reasons you think are the causes of these fights? Do you have any solutions to this problem? What response do you have for adults who are trying to solve this problem? If you could write an open letter to the community about this problem, what would you say? Are there any conditions in our community that you feel contribute to this problem?

The flyers for this essay contest will be at the Frank E. Merriweather Library. The prizes are $100 first place, $75 second place, and $50 third place. All essays must be emailed to me at ewriter52@roadrunner.com. You can also call me at (716) 847-6010.
