ENFORCEMENT OF SCHOOL BUS STOP-ARM SAFETY PROGRAM BEGINS TOMORROW, TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1ST

City officials issued a final reminder today that drivers who are caught illegally passing a stopped school bus in the City of Buffalo will be issued a ticket, beginning Tuesday, October First. Violators could face a $250 fine.

This new initiative is part of a partnership between the City of Buffalo, Buffalo School District and BusPatrol to further enhance the safety of thousands of City students who rely on buses for daily transportation to and from school.

Last spring, all school buses were equipped with stop arm cameras and a citywide 90-day public awareness period began, to give motorists time to prepare for the change. Again, enforcement begins on Tuesday, October 1st. Violators will be ticketed!

We thank you in advance for your cooperation in helping to protect Buffalo’s youngest residents by promoting safe behaviors that give our students safe access to their education.
