Bring the Kids to Presidential Palooza Next Week
During the February school break, bring the whole family to explore presidential memorabilia at the Buffalo History Museum during Presidential Palooza. With regular admission, enjoy a scavenger hunt and interactive family activities such as the Artifact Detective Program and Trivia competitions. And discover special pop-up exhibits that feature artifacts from select presidents (including a piece of cake from Grover Cleveland’s 1886 wedding). Receive a guided tour by one of our trained docents and learn some of the fascinating stories behind the presidential artifacts.
General admission to the Museum is pay-what-you-wish, and tickets for the guided tours are $13 ($10 for members) and can be purchased online by clicking on the link below or at the front desk.
Buffalo is a hub of presidential history. Two U.S. Presidents – Grover Cleveland and Millard Fillmore – spent formative years of their lives here. President William McKinley was assassinated in Buffalo at the 1901 Pan American Exposition (the gun the assassin used is on display in our Continuum exhibit.) And Theodore Roosevelt took the oath of office in Buffalo after McKinley’s death. Explore how “the road to the White House” led through Buffalo during Presidential Palooza.
The event will take place: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 2/21-2/23, 10am-2pm (guided tours at 11am and 1pm), at The Buffalo History Museum, One Museum Court, Buffalo, 14216.
