Herbert B. Campbell, Jr.

Herbert B. Campbell, Jr. of Buffalo, N.Y., transitioned from this life on September 29, 2023 at 87 years-old. Funeral Services were private.

Herbert was originally from Vicksburg, Mississippi where he was born on August 15, 1936 to the late Herbert B. Campbell, Sr. and Bertha E. Campbell.

He was one of seven children in his family and the only boy. When Herbert was still a child, his family relocated to Buffalo, where he graduated from East High School. Herbert became employed with Bethlehem Steel Corporation and worked there until he retired. In his retirement years, he stayed active, driving a school bus and transporting seniors on the Moot Center’s van. He and his wife Cynthia together were blessed with three children.

His passion was bowling. He participated on several leagues and taught his children and many other children and adults how to bowl. He was also an avid reader. A real talker, Herbert spent his leisure time fellowshipping with friends at gathering spots in the community, including the former Gigi’s Restaurant, the William-Emslie YMCA and McDonalds.

In addition to his parents, Herbert was preceded in passing by two of his children: Herbert B. Campbell, III and Rossoul Campbell; and two sisters: Annabelle Smothers and Brenda Campbell.

He is survived by four children: Lenora Campbell and Andrea Cooper of Buffalo, NY, Sekena Campbell of New Orleans, LA and Kaylin Campbell of Atlanta, GA; four sisters: Myrtle Demps, Rosalee Hall, Velma Campbell and Bertha Campbell; three grandchildren: Autumn Campbell, Kaylin Campbell, Jr., and Summer Campbell; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; longtime special friend Marcia, and a host of dear friends.

Entombment was in Rosewood Atrium East Mausoleum, Forest Lawn Cemetery; Arrangements by Thomas T. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc., 995 Genesee Street, Buffalo, NY.
