Buffalo Man Arraigned for Sexually Assaulting Victim
Lamont K. Love, 34, of Buffalo was arraigned before Buffalo City Court Judge Phillip Dabney, Jr. on one count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree (Class “D” felony), one count of Assault in the Third Degree (Class “A” misdemeanor) and one count of Harassment in the Second Degree (violation).
It is alleged that on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the defendant, while riding a bicycle, approached the victim who was walking in Shoshone Park on the 1900 block of Hertel Avenue in the City of Buffalo. The defendant, who was not known to the victim, allegedly jumped off of his bicycle and attacked the victim. The defendant is accused of subjecting the victim to sexual contact by forcible compulsion. The victim escaped the attack and reported the incident to police.
Love was scheduled to return on Friday, March 8, 2024 for a felony hearing. Prosecutors requested that the defendant be held without bail. The court set bail at $10,000 cash, insurance company bail bond or partially secured surety bond. A temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
