HOPE Day, the annual 24-hour match challenge day of giving, brought in a record total of $516,124 in support of Appeal 2025 to benefit Catholic Charities of Buffalo and the Fund for the Faith. This total included $111,000 in matching funds from OneBridge Benefits, EnergyMark, LLC, Tops Friendly Markets, Uniland Development Company, Catholic Health, Abbey Mecca, and Independent Health. HOPE Day 2025 was held on March 19.
“Throughout the Appeal, every dollar counts towards providing HOPE to a neighbor in need. Whether we’re serving a young family struggling with behavioral issues in Niagara County, an older adult in need of basic emergency assistance in Batavia, or a mom and her child in the Erie County suburbs who visits one of our food pantries, we are able to give HOPE to all, because of the help from all in our community,” said Deacon Steve Schumer, president and CEO of Catholic Charities.
“Your generous support helps Catholic Charities continue to provide these vital programs and services. Thank you for contributing to a record-breaking HOPE Day!”
The annual Appeal helps fund more than 50 programs and services administered by Catholic Charities, along with several ministries through the Fund for the Faith. Catholic Charities assisted more than 147,000 individuals, families, and children across all faiths and throughout all eight counties of Western New York last year.
