Return of the King: 14-year-old Boy With Severe Autism, Decides to Give Sensory Toys to His Former Autism School for Christmas

Join Donte for the 3rd Annual #AUSOMEFAMILYXMAS event, to be held Saturday, December 9th, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at True Bethel Baptist Church, 907 E. Ferry St.

Vendors/Sponsors/ Donors will be needed: Vendors to table information, Spectrum Vendors to sell merchandise, and generous donors needed to help sponsor. For more information, contact: KingofAusome@yahoo.com.

Donte, now 14, was diagnosed with autism just before his second birthday. In addition to autism, he has selective combined immunodeficiency, a condition that makes it difficult to fight infection.

Donte is no stranger to supporting the Autism Community. This year, he hopes to serve in an even bigger way. Donte recently transitioned from Autism Services, Inc., an agency based school that provides necessary services to individuals with Autism. He now attends a local High School alongside his peers without Autism. Throughout his short life, no matter the challenge, he has grown beyond the limits, thought to be his ceiling.

This will be the third year he has decided to share his birthday with the Autism community. His hope is that can continue to bring awareness to the community by highlighting what Autism can do. His toy drive has consistently served over 100 families annually to spread the message of awareness and inclusion.

Donte’s 15th Birthday wish is to give #AUsomefamilyxmas to Autism families and also give 100 Sensory toys to his former school. Autism is a spectrum disorder, and as such, children on the spectrum sometimes also experience developmental delays that impact their ability to play alongside their peers of the same chronological age. The KINGOFAUSOME.COM. It is a brand that uses its voice for Autism Awareness and inclusion. Autism can: If you want inclusion, INCLUDE THEM. Date of Event: 12/9/2023
