Youth Enrichment Chess Program to Begin

Mc-Duffie, founder of the Archangel 8 Chess Academy, United States Chess Federation Chess Coach and Buffalo Black Achiever, Celebrating over 25 years of developing and providing Chess programs in Buffalo and WNY, teaching under 12 year old girls, Jada, Aitina, Kari and Kaidyn, how chess pieces move and capture at the “Black Diamonds” Youth Enrichment Chess Club, held every Thursday night at the Frank E. Merriweather Branch Library, 1324 Jefferson Ave., Buffalo, NY.

The Archangel 8 Chess Academy has been addressing females being underrepresented in the game of chess while the most powerful chess piece on the chess board is the Queen, yet only 12 percent of females play the game of chess, according to the US Chess Federation. Girls playing at the annual All Girls National Chess Championship in Chicago IL, have the potential to earn a $60, 000 dollars college scholarship.
