Exciting Community Event Combines Voting, Literacy, and Veteran Support

On Friday, September 27, 2024, from 2-4pm, the community is invited to participate in a unique and engaging event featuring three simultaneous activities. Presented by the Johnetta R. Cole AMVETS Post No. 24 and the African American Veterans Arts and Culture Corporation, this event will be hosted by the Frank E. Merriweather, Jr. Branch Library in the auditorium located at 1324 Jefferson Avenue.

The event, dubbed “The Trifecta,” will include a ge-tout-the-vote campaign aimed at encouraging civic engagement, a Black Book Lending Library to promote literacy and access to diverse literature, and an AMVETS Post member-ship drive to support local veterans. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in all three activities, making it a dynamic and multifaceted experience.

Whether you want to ensure your voice is heard in upcoming elections, explore a variety of books, or learn more about supporting and joining the AMVETS Post, “The Trifecta” offers something for everyone. Don’t miss this chance to participate in a community-focused event that celebrates civic duty, literacy, and veteran support.
