Parkinson’s Foundation Offers Parkinson’s Revolution in Buffalo, NY
Virtual and in-person cycling events raise awareness of Parkinson’s disease
The Parkinson’s Foundation will host Parkinson’s Revolution – an indoor cycling event on February 24, 2024, in 35 cities across the country, including Buffalo History Museum, 1 Museum Court, Buffalo, NY 14216. Parkinson’s Revolution is a high-energy, high-intensity indoor cycling experience that raises funds and awareness for Parkinson’s disease (PD).
One million Americans are living with Parkinson’s, with nearly 90,000 people newly diagnosed each year. The Parkinson’s Foundation is the nation’s leading community for people living with Parkinson’s, those who love them and those who are working to end the disease. Improving care, advancing research towards a cure and providing necessary education on PD are pillars of the Foundation’s mission.
“Parkinson’s Revolution is a great example of how the Parkinson’s community is rallying together to combine the benefits of exercise and critical fundraising for research in one event,” said John L. Lehr, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Parkinson’s Foundation. “In 2024 we’re excited to continue expanding our ride to more cities around the country while continuing to empower the PD community with a virtual option and a Parkinson’s friendly ride.”
Parkinson’s Revolution will feature a 45- minute ride and a post-ride happy hour with opportunities for participants to learn more about Parkinson’s. The event will help support the local PD community by providing them with additional resources that can help improve their quality of life.
“Revolution Buffalo is such a great event. The studio spinning class engages everyone and builds enthusiasm for Parkinson’s. People create bonds with each other, share their stories and raise funds to support the Foundation’s mission,” Chris Jamele, Development Director of the New York New Jersey Chapter.
