4 Young Black Men Share Highlights about the Environment during upcoming Youth Advisory Panel (YAP) funded by the EPA Completes Year long Program

By Faustenia L. Morrow

On Saturday, November 23, from 5-6pm., the Upstate NY Youth Advisory Panel (YAP) will host a virtual culminating event highlighting young people who are passionate about the environment including Buffalo's own: Vaugh Beauford, Jalin Clark, Valerie Juang, Josiah Ramirez, Rezen Shedrick. I hope you will join us and invite others to tune in for 1-hour on zoom.

This final meeting of 14 youth from across New York State, was funded by a $1.3 million dollar EPA grant in collaboration with Drexel University; Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai Hospital; and the local environmental consulting firm, Monarch of Infinite Possibilities LLC.  The goal of the grant was to study how climate change and extreme heat is impacting marginalized communities.  It is rare that you see, (4) young black men in high school, ranging from ages 15-18 years old, sharing highlights from a year long program about the environment and how their neighborhoods are impacted, but that is exactly what our brilliant, future Environmental Scientists, Doctors and Executives will be sharing during this virtual event.

Please join us by using this zoom link: Saturday, November 23, from 5:00-6:00 PM. : Join our Cloud HD Video Meeting
