Head of School Retirement Announcement

The Health Sciences Charter School (HSCS) Board of Directors and Leadership Team announced that Head of School Jaime Venning retired from HSCS at the close of the 2023/2024 academic year.

Mr. Venning joined HSCS several years ago in an academic role, and was elevated to Head of School during a period of significant change. Under his leadership, the School has seen remarkable improvements in performance metrics, growth in enrollment, and expansion of space and community partnership. The Board deeply appreciates his work and the contributions he has made for the sake of our students, families, and community.

In preparation for this transition, the Health Sciences Board has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to several top recruiting firms to conduct a national search for its next Head of School. Principal Robert Baxter has stepped in as Interim Head of School, and the Board has also contracted with the Buffalo-based Wayforward Associates to support the leadership team during the interim period.

The Board, the academic leadership team, faculty and staff look forward to the September 3rd start of their incoming classes, and will share updates on the search with the community as it launches into the new school year in the fall committed to student success.
