A Special Announcement: Coming Soon, The Publication of My 13th Book

This Columnist is pleased to announce the publication of my 13th book. The title of it is: “My 45 Year Journey Teaching African American History in the Home, School, and Community.”

I submitted the book to the publisher at approximately 1:00 a.m. Wednesday morning. The book will be available to the public the first week in January or maybe sooner. This has been a difficult journey for me to finish the book. It was exhausting writing this book, but I was determined to finish it.

I have gone through so many emotional events during the past year. However, I kept the goal of writing this book in the back of my mind. This book is different because it not only is a focus on the history of African Americans, but it also gives some information about me that many people do not know. I consider this book to be a biographical account of my life and to be historical at the same time.

I have also included in the book a page in memory of my parents, and my siblings who have all passed away. I am the only sibling left out of the four children that my parents had. The book also includes a tribute to my late husband, Romeo Doyle Muhammad, a Veteran of the Korean War. I wanted to leave this book for my grandchildren, great grandchildren, and the general community so that people continue to learn and to share our history. This is even more important today in the era of banning books that tell our story and record the contributions of our ancestors to this country and to the world. There is a section in the book entitled: “Ten things You Need to Know About the History of African Americans.”

In the weeks and months to come, I will announce several book signings that will be held around the city and beyond. I am thankful for my readers, the Criterion newspaper, and many people in the community for their ongoing support. To God Be the Glory for His Many Blessings!!
