A Not So Clear But Present Danger

Former Congresswoman, Liz Cheney, said that if Donald Trump is reelected, he will never leave the office. She said he will find a way to remain in office even after his term expires.

Donald Trump stated that if he loses to Biden in November, the auto industry and the country will be engaging in a bloodbath!

People, we need to pray long and hard, right now. Either conclusion will be the end of American Democracy as we know it. Please start planning your home for a long and chaotic path ahead. Bottled water, canned goods and toilet paper to last for at least 3 months may be wise investments. Think about investing in gold as its worth is universal in bartering or buying supplies is solid while our paper currency can be deemed as worthless as the Italian Lire has become.

About 25 years ago, there was a national newspaper report that a movement was being encouraged by certain officials in Chicago to see how they could shut off water lines to certain parts of the city in case of urban warfare. Those officials stated that the next major war this country will fight in will be conducted, not in a foreign land, but on urban streets in many American cities. Even though the probability of that happening in our country was remote at best, I wrote an article about the report that was published in the Challenger Community News. I believe, with the past election of Donald Trump and his possible reelection, my worst nightmare of a portion of radical American citizens declaring war against their fellow citizens is possible. The insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th shows us just how precariously we are to some sort of a major conflict, in this country.

However, because of the state of unrest in many countries in this world, the last thing the Eastside needs is a 33 Expressway Tunnel underground that could be commandeered by domestic or foreign terrorist groups who could utilize it to store their supplies there as they move out of the Tunnel, to pick us off, one by one. If one thinks that could not happen here, one only has to look at the numerous underground tunnels that Hamas has dug and outfitted and detaining of captives, in Gaza. Russia is bombing the mess out of Ukraine and Haiti’s government is being run by the criminals and gangs while dangerous prisoners have been released from jails to wreak havoc on the residents.

To protect our community and to possibly remove a future threat to the eastside and its residents from harm, in case of a January 6th-like event, we need to keep all traffic above ground and restore the Fill In of Humboldt Parkway to its original state. This city of Buffalo does not need an infrastructure that, instead of helping the already pollutant sick and dying residents near the tunnel, it could be utilized by dissidents or terrorists to be the instrument of our demise.

Cities all across the United States are removing Expressways in urban areas and are replacing them with trees, affordable houses and urban parks. But here in Buffalo, the NYSDOT, not the residents or the community is going full speed to keeping the Expressway and is doing additional damage by putting a tunnel under it.

Just think how progressive and inclusive the city of Buffalo would be if it fully restored the Humboldt Parkway, from Michigan Avenue to Parkside Avenue with trees and flowers, and rebuild some of the hundreds of residents’ homes they took by Eminent Domain and destroyed when the Expressway was built, in the 1960s.

Finally, this writer wants you to know that the installation of the Tunnel is a final decision for the future of Humboldt Parkway if it is allowed to be put in. There would be no Phase 2 or removal of the Tunnel once it is found to be a significant health issue for the residents. The reluctantly of the NYSDOT to conduct health surveys and an Environmental Impact Statement demonstrates to myself and others that the local politicians and the NYSDOT are aware of the health damages residents of Humboldt Parkway have already suffered. This community would be forever stuck with an outdated Expressway from the past being bolstered by the present addition of an unpopular tunnel that will forever, in the future, relegate Humboldt Parkway to being less than it can be and what less than what the residents deserve.

Now, I hear that since the NYSDOT could not convince the Humboldt Parkway homeowners to vote to support the Tunnel, they are taking their Show on the Road, so to speak. They are visiting area churches trying to shore up religious or church pastors’ endorsement for this project. I guess some Pastors believe that since they already allow the politicians (money changers) in God’s House, God probably won’t mind if the Toxic Tunnel Pushers were allowed to come in and try to sway the people, as well.
