MARTIN LUTHER KING LETTER FOR A KING
By Cynthia Chinn-Harbin
Martin Luther King was a man, yes a great man; With a Pastor’s heart, he gave his mind and soul, For the “locked out” and poor people of this land.
Today, all of us reap the benefits Because he endured the snares and lies; But he accepted the highest calling, and gave his very life.
Martin Luther King was a man, yes a great man; Who knew the Lord and the call on his life. He was willing to go where he was invited, and deal with overbearing strife with those who were going through – Those who looked like me and you.
Martin Luther King, when l think of you I feel happy, proud, and then sad – I cannot do justice to your life of love and sacrifice with just pen and pad.
You showed each of us that the sky is limitless. All we have to do is our best, practice your principles of non-violence, self purification and love.
These attributes that are truly from the Lord above will surely stem the tide of bias and hate, And redeem humankind in God’s eyes before it’s too late.
